My Favorite Laundry Room Finds That Make Laundry Slightly Less Annoying
Laundry is one of those household chores that has absolutely no respect for your accomplishments.
You can wash, dry, fold, and put away every single piece of clothing in the house, and somehow there’s already another sock sitting in the hamper before you’ve even finished congratulating yourself.
While I haven’t found a product that magically washes, folds, and puts away everyone’s clothes I have found a few laundry room items that make the whole process more organized, convenient, and—dare I say—a little more enjoyable.
Here are some of my favorite laundry finds.

Are laundry detergent bottles unnecessarily ugly? Maybe. Do I still want to hide them? Absolutely.
Laundry pour bottles are one of those completely unnecessary-but-also-somehow-necessary purchases. I use mine for bleach and white vinegar!
They’re also easier to keep lined up on the counter instead of having giant plastic jugs taking over the entire space.
Does pretty detergent make me more excited to do laundry?
No.
But does it make me slightly less irritated while doing it?
Yes. And I'll take the win.
If there is one thing I love, it’s giving random household items their own designated container.
Laundry pods? Container.
Dryer sheets? Container.
Everything has a home, and suddenly I feel like a person who has her life together.
I love having laundry organizers sitting right on the counter because everything I need is within reach. No digging through cabinets, no half-open boxes of dryer sheets, and no giant bag of laundry pods falling over every time I grab one.
Plus, they make the laundry room look so much more put together—which is especially helpful when there’s a mountain of dirty clothes sitting approximately three feet away.
Balance.
Dryer balls are one of those simple laundry products I wish I had started using sooner.
I toss them into the dryer with a load and let them bounce around while everything dries. They can help separate clothes as they tumble and are a reusable alternative to constantly reaching for dryer sheets.
I don't use typical scent booster, so I add a few drops of fragrance oil to these and they make my laundry smell so much better than scent booster does!
I’m also convinced every laundry room has at least one missing dryer ball living its best life somewhere.
A collapsible drying rack is a lifesaver for me. I don't use mine as a drying rack. I use mine to hang my husband's work shirts and pants so I can steam them.
I have a smaller laundry room which doubles as a half bath, so this makes it quick and easy for me so I don't have to drag his clothes somewhere else in the house to steam them. Out of the dryer, onto the rack, quick steam, done.
I love this collapsible version because I can pull it out when I need it and fold it away when I don't. You get plenty of extra space without having a giant rack permanently taking over the laundry room.
Because if there's one thing my house does not need, it's another large object sitting around collecting random things.
A small lint bin next to the dryer fixes the ridiculously minor but surprisingly annoying problem of going to the kitchen every single time I do laundry to throw the lint away.
I can clean the lint trap and immediately toss everything into the bin which only needs to be emptied about once a week.
It's such a simple addition, but those are usually my favorite organization products—the ones that solve an annoying little problem I deal with every single day.
I would love not having any clothes that require ironing or steaming. However, my husband wears pants and shirts every day to work that require this.
I despise ironing. Enter, steamer.
It's quick, easy to use, and perfect when I need to make a shirt look presentable. It also doubles as an iron for the rare occasions I do need to iron something - I don't need a separate big, bulky iron.
If you have pets, you already know their hair has absolutely no boundaries.
It’s on the couch. It’s on your clothes. It’s somehow on a shirt that just came out of a closed drawer. At this point, pet hair is basically another member of the family.
Reusable pet hair catcher balls are an easy little addition to my laundry routine. I toss them in with a load, and they help grab loose pet hair and lint as everything tumbles around.
I especially love using them for blankets, kids’ clothes, and anything else that seems to attract an unreasonable amount of fur.
They’re reusable, require basically zero effort, and anything that helps me remove pet hair without individually picking it off my clothes gets a permanent spot in my laundry room.
The Laundry Will Never End, But At Least It Can Be Organized
I know none of these products are going to eliminate laundry completely.
But having a laundry room that's organized and stocked with products that actually make the process easier helps more than you'd think.
My favorite laundry items are the simple ones: pour bottles that keep the counter looking neat, organizers that give everything a home, dryer balls I can reuse, a drying rack that disappears when I don't need it, a lint bin exactly where I need it, and a steamer that saves me from ironing.
Will I ever be completely caught up on laundry?
Probably not.
But at least the laundry room can look cute while I pretend I am.
